Clinton Scott, Sr. Obituary

In Loving Memory of Clinton E. Scott, Sr.

“A Life Well Lived”

Clinton Edward Scott, Sr. departed this life on February 20, 2021 at the age of 93. He was born in Phoebus, VA on April 4, 1927 to parents Marion and Joseph Scott.  He leaves to mourn his loss a devoted wife, Irelene Troy Scott, and two surviving children: a son, Clinton E. Scott, Jr. (Juanita), daughter, Irelene P. Ricks, and granddaughter, Phoenix A. Ricks. A second son, Ronald Alwin Scott, passed away in October 2018. In addition to his immediate family, Clinton is also remembered by a loving host of family and friends from around the country.

Clinton loved listening to old Nat King Cole ballads and eating his wife’s cooking. He enjoyed taking his family on trips every summer, including long drives to Hampton, VA and New York to visit with relatives.

Clinton was a devoted church member who loved the Lord and whose favorite song was “God is So Good.” For many years he attended the City of Praise and later became a member of First Baptist Church of Glenarden in Glenarden, MD. His wife, Irelene, says that “she misses him already, and will see him in heaven.”
