Edmund Jefferson Miller entered into Eternal Rest on Sunday, September 11, 2022. “Jeff”, as he was affectionately known to all, was a native of Washington, DC. Jeff was born October 10, 1957, to the late Johnnie Miller and Shirley Wheeler. Norman Franklin Miller, his only brother, preceded him in death. Jeff received his education in the DC Public Schools graduating in 1975 from Woodrow Wilson High School. Following in his brother’s footsteps, Jeff pursued his passion for preparing food and built his own successful catering business, Two Friends Catering, after studying at The Culinary School of Washington. Over the years, Jeff served many through cooking and creating fabulous food presentations. His graceful designs in catering and great tasting food could only be matched by his flair for fashionable dressing. The Bible says train up a child in the way they should go and when they are old, they will not depart from it. Beginning at a young age, Jeff’s family ensured that he received the Word of God by attending weekly services at Vermont Avenue Baptist Church in NW Washington, DC. Jeff formally joined Vermont Avenue Baptist Church and was baptized under the pastorate of Reverend John R. Wheeler. He was an active member and served faithfully on the Culinary Crew, the Men’s Usher Board, the Silver Leaf Club, the Brooks Memorial Club, the George W. Lee Club, and lead as Father of the October Fellowship. Jeff has touched the lives of many usually showing his affection with cards, gifts or a handful of candy. He will be remembered for his generosity and his sense of humor. Jeff had many health challenges throughout his short but meaningful life, but his belief in God and his love for his family and friends helped to make his journey bearable. Jeff leaves behind to cherish his memory, a loving sister, Maria Bavegehims; his stepmother, Belinda Miller; two uncles, Bernard Miller (Renatta) and Ronald Miller; a devoted aunt, Norma Jean Taylor (Richard); two nephews, Lance Bavegehims and Lothalo Bavegehims (Mercedes); a loyal friend, Golden Thomas and a host of other relatives and friends. Jeff will be missed, but his spirit will live on through us all.
