In the early morning hours Thursday, October 15, 2020 we received the devastating news, John P. Jackson III, “JP”, “Tre” was no longer with us. Taken far too soon in a tragic car accident we lost a son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend.
JP left this world unexpectedly, at 27. Born an Aries in Maryland, on April 17, 1993 to adoring parents John Jackson, Jr. and Lunita Perez. JP started his journey in the suburbs of Maryland where he spent several years at large family gatherings, activities, birthday celebrations, and vacations. During JP’s formative school years, he lived in Georgia with his family. He successfully completed Harris County High School, Harris County Georgia. He loved life, freedom, autonomy, and could not wait to step into his greatness. If you knew him well or barely at all, he always left you thinking. Whether it was about something ridiculously funny, or a savvy piece of advice, he left his mark.
Once JP reached adulthood, he began to spread his wings and was no stranger to travel. He made his way to the midwestern states of Michigan and Illinois. While traveling JP met a number of friends, became acquainted with life’s lessons on his own terms. He had an infectious personality that made everyone love him. JP was confident and fearless, always eager to take “the road less traveled,” to discover where it might lead. JP had a courageous spirit that fueled him to be the best he could be.
Although JP’s journey was cut short, he completed Kaskaskia Community College, Centralia, IL in 2019. He was on track to graduate in December 2020 from Greenville University, in Illinois. His plan was to continue learning and growing and one day teach English at the college level. He embraced all aspects of living and looked forward to stealing precious time with family in Maryland.
JP will be missed every day by his parents: John P. Jackson, Jr. and Lunita Perez; Sister Anita Jackson; 2 brothers Terry A. Newby III, and Malachi A. Newby; grandparents: John P. Jackson, Sr., Bertha Jackson, and Mary L. Stevenson; 4 aunts Nancy Perez, Nina Huff, Natalie, and Ava Jackson; a number of cousins, and close friends.
