William Turner Obituary

On Wednesday September 23,2020 William Earl Turner Sr. entered into his eternal rest. William was born in Washington, D.C. on October 16,1927 to Elizabeth Turner (deceased) and William E. Turner (deceased). He was raised in Washington D.C.

 

William received his education in the D.C. public schools and later married Madeline White (Deceased) at a young age. To this union they were blessed with a set of twins Loretta & Lavern Turner, Deloris Turner-Lorick and Elaine Turner (deceased).  William later married Barbara Turner (deceased) to which this union produced his youngest son Keno Turner.

 

William joined the Mt. Rona City of Joy under Christian Experience September 27,2015.

You could often hear Mr. Turner (Boxie as he was affectionately called by family & friends) singing “Thank you, sweet Jesus, Thank you pretty Lord!” over and over again.

 

William worked in his earlier years for the Ginn’s Office Furniture in the District of Columbia.

 

William spent many years with friends at the Fine Living Care assisted facility and was later

transferred to Angel Assisted Living Facility where the staff took exceptionally good care of him until his passing.

 

Preceding him in death were 2 of his  sons Calvin Turner and Bernard Turner, his brothers Richard Turner and James Carlton Turner Sr., 2 sisters Inez and Esther, 2 half-brothers Motto & Moon, 1 niece Tracie Milton, 2 nephews Donald Milton  &, Anthony Milton and 1 Grandson-Irvin.

 

William leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughters Elaine Wilkerson, Loretta, Lavern, and Deloris, his sons William Turner jr. and Keno Turner; his grandchildren Omar, Tauheedah, Tameka, Zara, Richard, Donnell, Bobby Jr., Shaw-dell,  Delmar, Tia and Lakiah; A sister-n-law Joan Turner that faithfully cared for him in his last years; 4 nieces Joyce Milton, Rachelle Lee (James) Jamie High (Marlo),  Renee Butler (Charles Jr.); 2 nephews James Turner Jr. (Tracy) and Jonathan Turner Sr. and a host of Great nieces and nephews and other relatives, Mildred, Francine (Reggie),John Lloyd Jr. (Alisha), Rev. Maxine Ball, James Lloyd (Stephanie) Nina Jones (Marvin), Kathleen (Rodney), Coleen Mack (Lamar) and his Buddy, Lisa Turner.
